Dundee Photographer of the Year

A competition that I have been entering for the last few years is the Dundee Photographer of the Year competition, also known as the Annual Photographic Competition (this year being the 47th), which is sponsored by Dundee City Council.

In previous years, I have won the Dundee Corporation Trophy (DCT) for the best 3 images of Dundee, winning it first in 2010 and then again in 2011.

This year I entered the images below and managed to win the trophy back again this year, which was a great result. Not only that with, my overall score being the highest in the competition, I won the overall trophy and was crowned Dundee Photographer of the Year, which was a fantastic result. Two trophies and 3 sets of vouchers was my prize at the end of the night and to say I was delighted would be an understatement.

Two days later, I got a call from the Evening Telegraph who went on to conduct a phone interview and saying there would be a piece in the paper the following day. When I picked up the paper, I was very pleased to see a two page spread, which is also included below. A great week it was!
