The actor Brian Cox was in Dundee last week in his official role as Rector of the University of Dundee. He was there on a "fact-finding mission" to hear first-hand the concerns of students and staff.

I had the chance to photography Brian during his appearance at DUSA where he was in discussion with Professor Peter Downes (Principal) and Dr Jim McGeorge (Secretary) about the University's future and had a question/answer session with the audience. I also managed to have another photo session the following day when he promoted the Monikie 10K Diabetes fund-raising efforts and took the opportunity to make a cameo appearance in the DUSA TV show Skint.

I have to say how nice Brian was/is. He went out of his way to let me take photos and his manner, patience and friendliness when posing for photos with the students and spending his own time chatting to them is very reassuring to see. He was very much available to everyone and gave them all his undivided attention.

I look forward to my next chance to photograph Brian - and hoping it's the first of many more!
